Mapping Regulatory Elements and their Interactions

We have previously generated many global maps of regulatory elements that include enhancers and promoters via histone modification profiles, insulators using CTCF binding, and more recently silencer elements.  We have also used enhancer maps to determine regulatory SNPs associated with diseases. We continue to do this in the systems mentioned elsewhere and in collaboration with a number of colleagues.   To expand upon this area of work, we are also using 3C-base approaches that employ NGS to look at the 3D architecture of the genome and identify interactions between regulatory elements.

Current projects in the lab are largely focused on determining promoter-enhancer and promoter-silencer interactions.
